Maintenance and road upkeep

It is the responsibility of the municipality to maintain streets, market areas, parks and other such areas in accordance with the land use plan. However, private property owners are obliged to maintain the boundaries of their site.

The maintenance of the streets includes wintertime maintenance, for example snowploughing and gritting. The municipality may decide that a certain area is only partially maintained in the winter.

Highways are maintained by the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. Urgent traffic problems can be reported to Road User's Phone Service, tel. + 358 200 2100 (24 h/day).

Rental apartments

Municipal rental apartments can be inquired from the municipal office. Fill in the application, print it out and return in to the municipal office.
